Here’s a fine quality made in France glass proof and tralle hydrometer alongwith a Green base glass Test jar to measure the percentage of alcohol indistilled alcohol. This is used for unsweetened distilled spirits and is notfor beer and wine (see my other items, you need the triple scale for yourbeer, wine, wort, mash or sugar wash!). comes in a square plastic case withInstructions. This scale will determine the direct percentage of alcohol inliquids with a specific gravity less than zero. Just put a sample ofunsweetened liquid containing alcohol in the Test jar and float the hydrometerin the liquid. The hydrometer and Test jar are blown glass and fragile so becareful not to let it bounce off the bottom or sides. Spin the hydrometergently to release any bubbles that are sticking to it. At eye level read thenumber off the scale where the hydrometer emerges from the liquid. Be sure toread across the two bottom corners of the frown (not at the meniscus (top ofthe curve).
