In addition to zincpyrithione (ZnP), NF Bar Soap also contains a high percentage of nourishingolive oil, moisturizing emu oil, and gently exfoliating oatmeal. ZnP is a formof zinc with antifungal and antibacterial properties. It is used to treatdandruff, eczema, psoriasis, and many other skin conditions. Olive oil is usedin soaps as a natural moisturizer. One of the best ways to treat eczema is tokeep the skin from drying out. The oil creates a protective barrier for yourskin which aids in soft skin. Emu oil is a traditional Australian aboriginalmedicine rendered from the fat of the emu. When applied topically, the oil hasbeen shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, easing swelling andcontributing to the relief of psoriasis and other skin conditions. Calendula,a plant extract, is beneficial for dry or damaged skin and also promotes fasthealing and regeneration of the skin do to its anti-inflammatory andantibacterial properties.
