patterning on most of the solid-colored, thickly-glazed pieces. Square plates
are also available, and bakeware and glassware complete the extensive
collection, now available in more than half a dozen colors ranging from
neutral suede to bright ruby red. A perfect accessory gift for the Sorrento
dinnerware collector, this tool jar sits on the kitchen counter to hold all
kinds of utensils, such as spatulas, spoons, and whisks (not included). The
canister-shaped jar, glazed inside and out, is attractively embossed with the
raised dots and olive-leaf-in-a-square motif found on other Sorrento pieces. A
nice complement to the Sorrento canister set, the tool jar is also made of
lead-free, chip-resistant stoneware (safe for oven or microwave use, should
that ever be required), and slips into the dishwasher whenever splatters and
