Measure the circumference of the largest part of the child's head, (usually just above the eyebrows) in inches: Use a paper tape measure or a string and do not pull it too tight, loose like a hat would fit. But the helmet weighs roughly 3lbs so they are not recommended for anyone under the age of 5
