Ardsley Peg Drops: The first simple cure for slipping and squeaking pegs. One
drop will stop a slipping peg without removing it from instrument. This is the
original Ardsley Peg Drops, not an imitation! Peg Drops is a very cheap,
quick, and easy fix for string instruments that easily and often fall out of
tune. The source of the problem is pegs that don’t fit properly into the
allotted holes in the peg box caused by either poor craftsmanship or a gradual
wearing away over years of use. Rather than going through the expensive
process of having pegs refitted, The Original Peg Drops by Ardsley have always
been a solution. Why Peg Drops?: Peg Drops applied to the pegs allows them to
stick more securely in the peg box so that they do not slip while tuning and
allows for less frequent adjustment. This solution is very effective and a
much more conservative approach than having the pegs refitted. One thing to
remember when using Ardsley Peg Drops is not to use too much. Excessive dope
can cause pegs to be too sticky which can be just as frustrating as pegs that
slip. You really only need a drop or two (the small bottle goes a long way)
and immediately wipe off any extra.
