Pewter Odin's Wolves Norse Rune Wolf Pendant
Description
The All-Father God Odin had two wolf companions: Geri (meaning ‘greedy’) and
Freki (‘ravenous’). They followed Odin wherever he went, serving as protection
and completing Odin in ways Odin was lacking. The wolf is the traditional
spirit guide of the hunter, warrior, and magician. The wolf represents a dual
nature of nurshing and destruction. On one side, the wolf is the living
embodiment of fury, chaos, and brute wilderness. In contrast, the symbol of
the wolf also represents one of the most intelligent, loyal and sociable of
animals, living and hunting in a cooperative family-based pack. While the
wildness of the wolf is its greatest strength, intelligence is a wolf’s best
asset that will temper, balance and direct its fierce nature into positive
action. Our design shows the wolf in its dual nature, represented by a yin-
yang like design. It is surrounded by Futhark rune alphabet.
