best work of their career. Bouncing from hard rock (the apocalyptic vision of
the title track) to rockabilly (“Brand New Cadillac”) to reggae (“Rudy Can’t
Fail”) to pop (the Top 40 hit “Train in Vain”), the Clash knocked down all
