Description

The 1860 Naval Officer’s Cutlass features the USN embellished polished solid
brass scalloped shell basket, with a comfortable leather grip with twisted
wire. The blade is made of tempered high carbon steel and has a regulation
blade length of 26 inches (66 cm). This Officer’s Cutlass measures 31 3/4
inches (80.6 cm) overall and weighs 2.0 pounds (0.9 kg). The blade is stamped
with the authentic Navy Anchor and Maker’s / Inspector’s Marks. The blade is a
0.200 inch (5.1 mm) thick and 1.16 inch (2.9 cm) wide. The leather scabbard is
complete with the leather “Frog” for hanging from a belt. The leather scabbard
has the regulation copper rivets on the backside and the leather scabbard and
frog weigh 12.7 ounces (360 grams). The 1860 Naval Officer’s Cutlass cannot be
shipped with a sharpened blade, although you can easily sharpen the blade
yourself.
