Description

Hydro-Sponge filters stand tall over the competition with superior
construction, quality materials, modular design (for easy expansion), and
affordable pricing. While other sponge filters require suction cups that
quickly fail ,or flimsy bases that allow the unit to fall over into the gravel
or sand, the Hydro-Sponge filters are free standing with a heavy base that
locks securely in place, but is easy to unlock if needed and is raised to
allow sufficient space so that there are no dead areas between the aquarium
floor and the filter. Our quality design brings the sponge filter to a whole
new level as a serious filtration system that outperforms undergravel
biological filters and goes toe to toe with any other filtration system.
Breeder tanks, shrimp and invertebrates, tanks on the go, the need for quick
bio-cycling – are all obvious applications for sponge filters, but many
hobbyists are finding that the Hydro-Sponge is an excellent filtration
alternative for any aquarium set up. This small but powerful submersible
filter requires no external equipment or hanging reservoir, and can use an
existing air pump or powerhead setup to achieve the gentle-yet-effective
vacuum effect it uses to work.

Features:

Experience crystal clear water, radiantly healthy freshwater or saltwater fish, and whisper-quiet, high flow filtration without constant cartridge replacements or a hazardous impeller
Quiet and easy to clean – simply rinse and squeeze in used tank water (not tap water!) to maintain nitrogen-fixing bacteria. Inner canister of filter can be filled with activated charcoal, carbon, or other media.
Hooks up directly to a powerhead or pump, and the diffuser can replace air stones. To set up, simply assemble, bury the base, and connect an air hose.
Soft foam filters across a wide surface area, creating bubbles to reduce protein buildup and increase oxygen. Ideal for low-current breeding, betta, discus, and turtle tanks.
Fast-cycle a new tank by transferring a filter sponge from old to new. For even more pristine water and longer filter life, combine with ATI Filter Max pre-filtration or try our Hydro-Sponge Pro line.
