historic carriage road system that covers large parts of Mount Desert Island.
The map base includes contour lines and elevations of the mountain and
contours of all the rivers, lakes, sounds, ponds and other bodies of water
that are within and surround the park. The map also display many recreational
features and other points of interest, including: visitor centers,
campgrounds, trailheads, boat ramps, interpretive trails, swimming areas,
museums, lighthouses and ferry launch points. Every Trails Illustrated map is
printed on “Backcountry Tough” waterproof, tear-resistant paper. A full UTM
grid is printed on the map to aid with GPS navigation.Other features found on
