52" x 71" Traditional Jewish Kosher Tallit / Tallis / Talit / Talis Prayer Shawl Made in Israel – White, Black and Gold
Description
This lovely traditional tallit is a superb prayer shawl made from acrylic
fibers and it is very lightweight and comfortable. The white tallit fabric has
black and gold thread patterns and it is beautifully designed and a great item
to own or to give as a special judaica gift. The tallit or talis is a prayer
shawl that has special twined and knotted fringes called tzitziot that are
attached to each of its four corners. The tallit is sometimes called the “arba
kanfot” or four corners. The basis for wearing the tallit is from Numbers
15:37-41, in which G-d says to Moses: “Speak to the children of Israel and bid
them to affix fringes (tzitziot) to the corners of their garments… that you
may look upon them and remember all the commandments of the Lord.” Before
putting on a tallit, it is a customary tradition to kiss it and hold it open
while the following prayer is recited: “Baruch atah adonai eloheinu melech
ha’olam asher kid’shanu b’mitvotav v’tzivanu l’hitatef batzitzit.” “Blessed
are You, O Lord our G-d, King of the Universe, Who has commanded us to wrap
ourselves in the tallit”
